In the Philippnes, there was 80,000 American and Filipino troops who battled and took the Japanese under their control. At that point and time the Japanese invasion which was in December of 1941, General Douglas MacArthur was in command of allied forces on all the Islands (Donzer).

At the beginning of world war 2, the Philippnes Islands were part of the territory as per the 1898 which was the treaty of Paris. In the American capital which was Washington, Henry Stimson and George Marshall believed that a strong presence of the American air power in the philippine Islands would discourage Japanese aggression (Chen).c.jpg

Sixty yaers ago from August 5 2005 the U.S. dropped multiple atomic bombs on Hiroshima and it also hit Nagasaki. The soviet union declared war on Japan then the Japanese government surrenedered to the U.S. and also they surrendered to their allies. Ever since the atomic bombs were exploded over the Japanese cities there was hell for all the citizens of the to suffering cities (Burr).

On December 8 1941 Japan launched a surprise attack on the philippines, only 10 hours after the attack on the Pearl Harbor. The Philippine defense continued to keep fighting until the final surrender of the United States-Philippine forces on the botaan peninsula on April 1942 and also on corregidor in May (World War 2).
