In may 1942 the americans and the alstrailians stoped the japanees from attacking austrailia. They fough on airplans. Not a single shot was shot to or by a ship.(danzer) For The first time since pearl harbor. a japanees invasion had been stoped.

This battle Started in the late 1944. This island wasnt to far from tokyo. this island was gaurded by lots of soliders. but the merican troops outnumbered them. by the time that battle was over more the 7000 americans where killed and more then 20000 japan people were killed(beck)

allied troops invaded okinawa on april 1 1995. Over 12000 americans died in the okinawa battle. the japanees lost 110000 troops in the fight. Inspite of the terrible losses the americans fianly gained controle over the island in june 1945.(beck). {german_war.jpg}

The Battle Of Midway:
After perol harbor Japan next attack was toward midway. A island which lies northwest of Hawii. Here again the allies successed in stoping japan. Americans had broken the japanees code and knew that midway was to be the next target. The battle of midway was a turning point for the war in the pacific. (danzer) Nimits had a plan, his plan was to stop a japanees midway and avoid contack with the larger japanees fleet. His plan worked perfecly. the americans stoped japan before they got to midway. the americans bombed and dameged three of japans four air planes.
